In a move to address urgent health intervention during an emergency, African Industries Group, AIG, has disclosed plans to conduct blood donation camps across multiple locations within Nigeria, to support the blood banks.
To this effect, it recently organized its first blood camp in partnership with Rotary Club Eko Atlantic in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
In a statement signed by a Director at the African Industries Group, Mr. Ravi Sharma, the group said the blood donation camp experienced a good footfall of samaritans, from surrounding AIG factories and offices, as well as people from neighboring communities, who volunteered to donate blood.
It added that enthusiastic employees from the AIG factories volunteered to support in organizing the camp.
The group according to the statement, “collaborated with Rotary Club Eko Atlantic and the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Services which ensured that the standard procedures were adhered to, along with the prescribed precautions for the camp”.
